Get the Broom

In honor of the Red Sox sweeping the Yankees this past weekend here are a few photos from the game I went to at Camden Yards in April. You should NEVER need a reason to go to a baseball game, but I did have a good excuse because it was my friend Nick's birthday. Thank goodness Jenna started dating him because I can talk all I want about Boston to him and he gets it! God love 'em. Oh and Sam wearing his hat backwards? It's because he's a "brah" (which means bro. I guess with a Cali. accent). Too funny.

girl who might go to an afternoon Nats game tomorrow because I can for about $10.

FINE! i'll go for a run

I LOVE to run, but sometimes it's physically getting up and going that is the problem. I do want to add in my defense today was especially hard because it was a rainy Sunday and I am going on just a few short hours of sleep. However,  FINALLY at 8:30pm just before dusk I convinced myself (with some verbal abuse from sister Louisa and Dad) to do my normal 5k route. If I ever, evAH get to the point where I can't run my 5k, we know there is something severely wrong with me and you have full permission to hit me then force me on a treadmill. Thanks. There is no denying it, when I don't want to run/workout and then I do, I feel like I could take on the world. Knowing that helps me get out the door and "JUST DO IT!"

Date night with mother

While Saturday night for most is a time to get dolled up and meet with a "potential." I got dolled up and met with my mom. She actually came to a show I was interpreting which was nice of her since she doesn't understand Sign Language at all. It's now a family joke for when my parents see me interpret something and then afterwards come up and say, "Oh my goodness Sarah, that was great!" I mean let's be honest, I could be signing about how much I love oatmeal cookies and they would be none the wiser.  Never the less the support is always appreciated and the best part is we get to go out to dinner afterwards.

Mother and I went to Mike's American Grill in Springfield for what we thought might be just a night cap but turned into a full on food feast. Below are a few photos of our wonderful night chatting about life, love,  faith, and so much more. Our food was superb as always. Mother enjoyed grouper over rice with jumbo asparagus while I got the crab cake and 5oz filet with mashed potatoes served with sautéed mushrooms. We also had the seasonal strawberry shortcake that I didn't grab a picture of because we nearly ate it out of the servers hand (poor girl might have lost a finger or two).

All in all Mike's is always on point if you have never gone, stop what you are doing right now and go and I love my mom.

The First Post

Brace yourself. Bracing? After much consideration I too am joining the blog bandwagon. I intend to use this format to keep my fabulous family and friends plugged in with my life in D.C. as well as a journal to look back on when I'm old and gray and can't remember what the heck I was doing at 23 years old.

Things to look forward to reading:
1. family introductions and bios
2. my love for running & the races I'll accomplish
3. friends
4. losing my mind living at home at 23
5. the search for the perfect apt.
6. my love for clothes (fashion sounds too intimidating)
7. my deeper love for jewelry
8. my love-hate relationship with shoes
9.  did I mention losing my mind living at home at 23?
10. patience and lack there of with my sisters
11. faith
12. traveling
13. food, restaurants, cooking, baking, lions, tigers, and bears
14. The Red Sox
15. I HOPE some Vlogs of a few signs (ASL)
16. budgeting...ok maybe not.

Even making that list I hope there are thousands of other things I didn't even think of or can imagine. Life changes so quickly that I can't promise what I will write about it but I can guarantee to be honest and kind. Hope I caught your interest!?
