JULY 10, 2011 Part1

So this is how my birthDAY unraveled with my very spontaneous dad and sister Hilary:

10am-ish WAKE UP
10:30am run with dad

After the run, 11:30am.....
Dad: "What do you want to do today for your birthday?"
Moi: "We should go to NYC and find that fabulous French and Indian fusion Chef I love and eat at his  new restaurant  up there."
Dad: "Don't tempt me, I'll go to NYC if you want."
Moi: "HILLLLLLARY WE'RE GOING TO NYC TODAY GET READY STAT!"

the voice of reason: (NYC IS 4.5hours away.... let's go to Philly only 3hours away)

Moi: "HILLLLLLARY WE'RE GOING TO PHILLY GREAT READY STAT!"

then about an hour later (1pm) we got in the car and drove.
Here are the pictures to prove it:
Hilary had to get a McCafe, those things are like CRACK!

Dad playing opossum and not really sleeping, but pretending to sleep so he didn't have to engage in "girl talk"

Witnessed a legit accident. (We did pray after we passed it)

realizing we were the reason for traffic, *COUGH, rubber necking, COUGH*

And then we finally made it 4:00pm!

Posts to come:
1. Philly fahion post
2. Drinks where the bar was made from a tree in Africa... I'll expain later
3. A 13 course dinner at Tintos

Birthday at the Ballpark

July 10th was my BIRTHDAY and the night before I got treated to a Nationals game (that they lost to the Rockies, LAME)  and then a night out on Barracks Row or more specifically Molly Malones. I am an Uber birthday nerd where NOTHING is ever too much and strongly believe in birthdays because they celebrate people. I always love sharing and celebrating my friends and family soooo that means yours is next Meg Tay (AUG 10th) and I may already be plotting.

and even more perplexed by their dancing...

all while signing or interpreting the whole night.

Thanks to all my friends for making the NIGHT before my birthday fun and really allowing me to celebrate it for the FULL weekend!
merci!

Inspired by Grey and Yellow

I think the title speaks for itself. I am currently crushing on the previous items from World Market. What is it about the grey and yellow that I am drawn to? I'm not sure, but I think its the bipolar combo of bright&bland or  country yellow vs. modern grey. Needless to say I dig it and resisted the urge to buy any item so that calls for a HUGE pat on the back for me (YAY for saving!)

OH WAIT, I did just buy a grey and yellow dress though that's a size too small, guess its design inspiration as well as a little workout motivation :/

What do you think? Do you hate it. are there other color combos that just "speak" to you?

Family Reunion

My family is large, loud and Italian. Last week we got together in RI from all over (NY, CA, FLA,VA) to celebrate dear Liz who graduated High school. One significant thing about my family is, no matter how long we have been apart, we can still all laugh hysterically over God knows what.

P.S. Don't worry cousins, I was being very observant and took notes for more stuff to add to the family roast. Until next year!

Healthy Fries?

YUMMMM! ENJOY ALL, and I thiiiiink it's fairly salty

James Taylor @ Tanglewood

HOLLA! I may be 24 but I still appreciate some awesome folk music. My family has been listening to James Taylor since birth and LOVE him. He came to Tanglewood this summer and months ago my oldest cousin Ali started plotting and planning on how to get as many of us there as possible. We had 23 of  my family members make it and we really rallied through the rain (note classy ponchos) to enjoy the concert.

We had legit front row lawn seats. Left at 9:30am to arrive at 12, concert started at 7pm
