Can Can Brasserie
My grandparents Papa and Ann were both in town from Kansas and we decided to take a day trip down to Richomond, Virginia. While we planned to tour around it turned into a brief trip to Cary town for lunch at Can Can Brasserie. This French restaurant offers up a great open atmosphere with grand tin pressed ceilings, french art work, and friendly staff. We enjoyed crepes, quiche, and coffee that only made us wish that we were starving so we could order more.
It was our server that sold us on Fredricksburg instead of Richmond and after lunch we headed back up 95 to stop then stop in Historic Fredricksburg to trolly tour the city. He also did boast about a classic ice cream shop Carl's that we then just had to try. DON'T GO! It was over rated and frankly just awful. Only serving vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry custard cones and shakes the flavors were tasteless and the service was simply, BLAH. All I can say is you have fair warning and there are several other small business directly in town that would better benefit from your wallet.
So in one day we drove down to Richmond for a fabulous lunch walked the block to then arrive in Fredricksburg to educate ourselves about the Civil War. All in all life is good and family is great. Missing my Papa and Ann already. Love you guys.
What do you like to do with your grandparents are they big history buffs, foodies, or movie people?
